I received a message from Brendan Elias, client and now good friend:
“I’ve found something that is extremely valuable.”
Anyone who knows Brendan would know he is a business genius, an expert deal maker and has a wicked sense of humor.
So what is this going to be? Is he being serious?
“Imagine you could be with someone and know with 90% confidence if it would be stable or end in divorce”.
At this time I had just started dating someone new. I was at her place.
She is cooking dinner and my offer to be a kitchen hand had been rejected.
I asked her if she minded if I called Brendan – curiosity was getting the best of me.
I called Brendan. Yes, he was serious. He asked me to watch the video.
“Do I watch this with my girlfriend?” I asked. “Yes, definitely”.
I took the risk – still not sure if this was a joke.
We watched the video together. It was great.
3 indicators tell you whether your relationship is going to succeed or end in separation/divorce.
That was just over 2 years ago and we got married a few months ago. And we test each other regularly on these 3 indicators so we don’t forget…
Why am I telling you this?
Well…
1. It’s Valentine’s Day here in Australia.
2. The lessons here also apply to business.
Let’s go!
1. Turning Towards: Active Listening
Success in love and business starts with truly listening. It’s more than just hearing words. It’s showing you understand. Here’s how:
✅ Give your full attention.
✅ Use eye contact and engaged body language.
✅ Ask open-ended questions.
Real listening fosters real connections. Next time you’re in a conversation, be all in.
2. Appreciation: Small Words, Big Impact
Appreciation fuels both relationships and workplaces. Don’t keep it to yourself. Express it!
💖 In personal life, gratitude builds trust and intimacy.
🏆 In business, recognition boosts morale and motivation.
A simple “thank you” goes a long way. Say it, mean it, and watch the impact.
3. Love Maps: A Clear Vision for Success
Strong relationships, personal or professional. thrive on shared goals.
🗺️ In love, talk about dreams and long-term plans.
🚀 In business, align your team with a clear vision.
Knowing where you’re headed creates purpose, unity, and direction. Plan together, grow together.
I hope this serves you as well as it has served me.

Lloyd
